Client Testimonials
Samish Commons
“RMC has been a valued partner of the Bellingham and Whatcom County Housing Authorities for more than a decade. Together we’ve renovated nearly 1,000 apartments on 15 sites. Our latest collaboration, Samish Commons, is the northern gateway to the new Samish Way Urban Village. RMC has helped us realize our goals for a mixed-use, multi-generational development with 171 apartments serving a broad range of incomes. Samish Commons has also been a key catalyst for transforming a dilapidated, auto-oriented area into the vibrant walkable village envisioned by the surrounding neighborhood associations.”
Evergreen Beauty College Building
“RMC is a top-notch architecture firm. We began working with them in 2017 and since then, they have been our architects of choice because of their responsiveness and acute knowledge. They know how to get a project permitted in a timely manner and how to work with contractors to get things done. They were adept at navigating the requirements and restrictions for our historical building and delighted us with the end results. RMC’s client relations ethos and design sensibilities make them an amazing firm to work with.”

Port of Anacortes
“I have nothing but wonderful things to say about RMC— from their strategic thinking and design expertise to their billing practices. Their deep experience with government processes is invaluable. They understand the Commission and the various political challenges we navigate and do an excellent job of thoughtfully walking us through planning sessions. RMC’s facilitative approach allows them to effectively moderate conversations while actively listening. They are adept at demonstrating how decisions ultimately impact project outcomes and incorporating the various comments from the Commission into the next iterations.”
Whatcom County Library System Facilities Condition Assessment 2021
“Principal Brad Cornwell served as a trustee for Whatcom County Library System for several years. He understands what contemporary libraries are doing in their library buildings and the particular challenges they face and can incorporate this knowledge into designing spaces that are flexible and functional as well as aesthetically pleasing. For our Facilities Assessment, RMC deployed a team to conduct a thorough review of each building; they have excellent working relationships with a wide variety of subcontractors they can call on for expert input.”

“RMC is a firm with guts! Our building had been sitting vacant for six years after a devastating fire. The process of sifting through debris and finding pieces of beauty was exhilarating and fun. They are deeply respectful of history and hold a bold view of the future. We believe both are necessary for great design. We loved working with the entire firm and look forward to our next project.”
Christ Lutheran Church
“RMC listened closely and compassionately to our needs and went above and beyond the call of duty to make our project successful. The remodel/expansion of Christ Lutheran Church has brought our congregation together, given us lovely and bright spaces to gather, made our building easier to navigate, and expanded our welcoming presence in the community.”

Bellingham Public Library
“The construction phase of our library project began when everything was shutting down because of COVID. I think the best part about working with RMC was their ability to be flexible and adapt to the dynamic shift that occurred during that time in construction, as well as internally for our organization and externally from a supplier standpoint. RMC’s patience and understanding navigating that complicated process, while managing the City’s needs and requirements, helped make the Bellingham Public Library project a success.”
Whatcom County, Multiple Projects
“RMC’s team has done an excellent job executing the administration’s directives in a manner that makes the department head end users feel heard, satisfied, and excited about the project result. Most projects have been performed while buildings have been occupied. RMC has a way of developing a project schedule to have the least impact to productivity, yet gets it completed within a reasonable and demanding timeline.”

Rocket Building
“Given its prime location in Fairhaven, Acme required a building design that met the Fairhaven Historic District design guidelines. We wanted to set a new high bar for exterior design in the district, with beautiful and functional interior spaces for a full-service restaurant operating on three floors and the rooftop. Achieving all three goals demanded exceptional communication with the building owner, restaurant manager, neighboring property owners and Fairhaven community, building and codes administrators, and the building contractor. RMC delivered on a high wire act. Both the building owner and the Fairhaven community were big winners.”
1500 Railroad Avenue
“As an attorney I have worked with a number of architectural firms over the years, including RMC, on a variety of commercial and government client projects. The architects at RMC are professional, cost-effective, and responsive. They listen to the clients and come to clients with solutions, not issues. Recently, when we sought to expand the office space in our 110-year-old brick warehouse, we looked to RMC for cost-estimates, design, and construction support. RMC worked with us and our general contractor to guide a successful project.”

The Owl’s Nest
“RMC designed the house to fit into the landscape and environment using materials and colors that complement the natural surroundings—this was very important to us. RMC understands and delivers the subtle transition from the natural environment to a newly built home. One of the things we love most is the seamless flow from inside to outside, which allows us to enjoy the property to its fullest potential. It has truly been a pleasure to work with Jeff McClure and the entire team at RMC Architects.”
Skagit Valley College, Multiple Projects
“As our Campus Architect, RMC has been a critical partner in the success of Skagit Valley College. Their team is reliable and responsive. They are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure projects are delivered successfully. This is true for small tenant improvement projects as well as multi-million-dollar major building replacement projects. RMC is my first call for Architectural and Engineering support.”
