Project Manager (5+ years, Full-Time)

About the Role

RMC Architects is seeking a proactive and discerning Project Manager to join our team in Bellingham, WA. We are looking for an action-oriented leader with a proven track record of success guiding architectural projects through all phases of delivery.

The ideal candidate combines solid design and technical skills with critical thinking and the confidence to execute sound professional judgment on complex project issues. This is a role for a decisive professional who takes clear initiative, anticipates challenges, and gets along well with clients, consultants, and colleagues alike.

Key Responsibilities & Abilities

  • Drive day-to-day project operations, taking decisive ownership of scope, schedule, budget, and consultant coordination.
  • Lead and contribute to design across all phases (from feasibility through construction administration) and oversee the development of technically sound, code-compliant construction documents produced in Revit.
  • Work closely with contractors, clients, and consultants during construction, actively resolving RFIs and submittals to ensure design intent is successfully delivered.
  • Support firm growth by contributing to RFQ responses, participating in project pursuits, and delivering engaging client presentations.
  • Provide active guidance to emerging professionals in the studio, fostering a highly collaborative environment.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a professional architectural practice, with a demonstrated history of successfully leading projects.
  • Outstanding communication skills and an ability to build positive relationships with team members, clients, and contractors.
  • High self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal principal oversight while remaining a collaborative team player.
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Attributes

  • Washington State Architectural License (or substantial equivalent experience managing projects of various types and scales).
  • Prior experience working on public, multifamily, higher education, and community-focused projects.
