Grounds & Grain, the new food service venue for PeaceHealth is located next to the east entrance of the Hospital. This space serves the nearby birthing center, outpatient surgery center, and adjacent medical office buildings. The client wanted a café that made quick, healthful food accessible to visitors, patients, and staff.
Decorative light fixtures, an electric fireplace, and comfortable seating create a welcoming, stress-free zone for people visiting the hospital. A fireproofed steel, seismic brace frame encased in backlit plexiglass paneling with an organic motif serves both form and function within the space. The design also includes indoor and outdoor trellised seating areas.
In addition to interior design, our services involved coordination with an Owner-contracted kitchen equipment supplier and providing code solutions to isolate gas-fired equipment while maintaining an open environment for patrons.
