Jesse Fawcett is recent architecture school graduate of Alfred State (New York) who brings excellent graphic skills and a keen desire to learn the profession. He found Bellingham by exploring the Pacific Northwest through frequent visits over the years.
Bellingham really clicked for me as the perfect place to start my next chapter. I came across RMC in my initial research of the area and felt that the firm’s prominence in the local community was something I wanted to experience as a newly developing professional. Since starting, I have really felt the sense of inclusion this area and RMC brings to the table and I am very happy with how much I have learned and will continue to learn.
Right now, Jesse is gaining exposure to range of projects for clients that include Mercy Housing, Port of Bellingham and Everett Housing Authority.
Anna Beth Gunderson grew up in Whatcom County, received her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Washington last year. Anna Beth’s work in Seattle included participation in the construction of ADUs for people experiencing homelessness.
I started looking for a position in Bellingham after graduation so that I could live closer to my family. RMC was especially attractive to me because I felt they were the most community-oriented of the firms I was considering.
Since joining the firm in January, Anna Beth has been involved in the firm’s many port projects, which nicely aligns with her background in commercial fishing.
Allison Ross, born and raised in Anchorage, received a Master of Architecture from Montana State University in 2017. She is well on her way to licensure and brings strong interests in sustainable building design and inclusive community development to the firm. Prior to moving to Bellingham, Allison worked for design firms in Alaska, Montana and, most recently, Seattle. Current projects include a custom lake home and a project for the City of Bellingham’s Public Works.
I was originally drawn to Bellingham for the mountain bike community and extensive trail networks, but I have discovered so much more to love about this town. The proximity to the ocean, dense forests filled with ferns, and the charm of downtown are a few of my new favorite things about living here. I am excited about the opportunity to work with local organizations to strengthen the Bellingham community as the city continues to grow and change. It is inspiring to work with people who care so deeply about the community that we call home, its residents, and the environment that surrounds us.
David Heck went to middle and high school in Bellingham. He’s a licensed architect who earned his Bachelor of Architecture at Cal Poly (2012) and practiced in Hong Kong and Vancouver, B.C. before returning to Bellingham. Over seven years in Vancouver, he worked for several design firms as well as a multi-family home developer, giving him experience with all types of design and construction. David is currently applying his range of experience to office, residential and church facilities.
The timing feels perfect, after gaining some good big city experience, I can now apply some of those skills to RMC, while continuing to learn and grow at such a talented studio. I also look forward to becoming more involved and giving back to a community that helped shape me at an early age.
